Job Description
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for a safe, efficient and reliable operations of the Jimah Power Plant and its Auxiliaries, from time to time, when operational needs arise, extra responsibilities may be given to the post holder.
- Log and analyse the local parameters and familiar with the safe operating parameters to ensure plant equipment are running in a safe and efficient condition during routine plant round checks.
- Report any abnormalities or defects to the Lead Unit Engineer ("LUE") or Unit Operator ("UO") to be raised in Maximo.
- To assist LUE or UO in performing routine shift operational tests according to the daily, weekly and monthly checklist for all plant equipment as required.
- Assist the LUE or UO in plant equipment's preparation for service in and test run.
- Ensure the continual and accurate update of all Logbooks.
- Support Station Quality, Safety, Health and Environment system and procedures, including emergency response plan.
- Assist the Authorized Person / Shift Charge Engineer ("SCE") to carry out isolation as per Permit to Work instruction.
- Other relevant duties and assignments as per required by the management team.
- Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders' specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
- Perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Qualification required:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or
- Diploma in Electronic Engineering from a recognized higher learning institution.
Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required:
- Authorized Gas Tester and Entry Supervisor (AGTES)
Optional requirement or added advantage:
- Possess Certified Department of Occuptional Safety and Health (DOSH) Steam Engine Driver Grade 2 (SEDG2).
- Chargeman - Low voltage system (A0 or A1).
Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope:
- Minimum 1 year exposure in the operations of the coal fired power plant.
Work experiences required:
- knowledgeable in Piping and instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and the process principles.
- Knowledgeable in the set requirements by local government agency ie. DOSH, DOE regulations, initiatives and criteria.
Skills and Behaviour Traits
- Good verbal and written in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
- Computer literate.
- Hands on with analytical and supervisory skills.
- Able to work in a team / teamwork.
- Good communication and reading skills.
