Tax Manager (Penang)

Location: YYC Ideal Sdn Bhd (Bukit Mertajam, Penang)

Job Summary:

YYC is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Tax Manager to lead our people in achieving goals, with focus on delivering quality tax services within the agreed timelines. As a leader, you are expected to develop the team and equip them with the necessary competency in taxation and the ability to manage stakeholders and clients.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Manage an assigned portfolio of clients and projects and lead teams to deliver tax services effectively. This includes corporate tax planning, tax audit and tax investigation.

2. Conduct a high-level review on complex computation and tax submission before submission to client.

3. Review all tax submission and tax correspondences drafted/prepared by staff before sign-off by Tax Director.

4. Perform high level review in ensuring all tasks are performed by staff in accordance with instructions and timelines.

5. Resolve all tax issues expediently to avoid work disruption.

6. Implement action plans to achieve set goals and targets.

7. Train tax team members on the latest development in taxation and its issues to enhance their skills and knowledge.

8. Develop Assistant Managers and Team Leaders with the skills to conduct exit meetings and tax computations with clients.

9. Manage the performance of team through regular communication, feedback, performance review and coaching.

10. Conduct monthly performance meetings with the managers of tax branches as well as to resolve issues raised.

11. Ensure tax fee is paid upon tax submission.

12. Evaluate ways to improve the workflow and efficiency of the tax department.

Job Requirements:

• Hold a degree in Accounting and Finance with major in Taxation and/or professional qualification in ACCA or its equivalent. 

• Have at least 5 years of tax experience with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.

• Strong tax knowledge and experience.

• Team leadership skill.

• Ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationship at all levels.

• Innovative and critical thinking to resolve problems.

• Good interpersonal skills to engage effectively with people.

• Proficiency in English is required. Added advantage for candidates fluent in Mandarin.
