Sustainability Engineer (Renewable Energy Project)

To support the Company's growing sustainability and decarbonization initiatives. We need a dedicated Engineer to coordinate the renewable energy projects, provide technical input and ensure compliance across sites.

The roles:-

1)Strategic Planning & Project Coordination

• Responsible in planning and monitoring decarbonization initiatives across the group of companies, including preparation of technical and financial reports.

• Coordinate sustainability and energy-related projects, ensuring all engineering, architectural, and regulatory scopes are addressed.

• Maintain detailed project documentation and performance tracking aligned with sustainability KPIs.

2)Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with plant operations, consultants, contractors, and relevant government bodies to support sustainable design and implementation.

• Attend project meetings to ensure comprehensive communication and alignment on decarbonization activities.

3)Technical Support & Field Oversight

• Establish and maintain Bills of Material Lists (BOML) for sustainability-related projects.

• Provide engineering input and support for feasibility, design, and execution phases of projects.

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and provide updates to the Group EHS team as needed.

4)Sustainability Integration & Impact Assessment

• Collaborate with operational teams to develop and refine sustainability roadmaps tailored to plant and corporate needs.

• Evaluate the potential environmental, social, and economic impacts of projects and recommend improvement actions.

• Contribute to internal training and awareness efforts on sustainability objectives and expectations.

5)Research & Policy Advisory

• Support the identification and exploration of critical sustainability research areas, including climate change, carbon footprinting, and renewable energy.

• Provide input on best practices and assist in aligning company operations with local and international sustainability regulations.

• Contribute to internal policy development and recommend practical solutions for continuous improvement in sustainability performance.

6)Other Duties

• Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Management

The Requirements:-

• Diploma or Degree in Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in engineering, sustainability, or renewable energy.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office and technical report writing.

• Able to communicate and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage.

• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

• Willing to travel as and when necessary.
