Retail Store Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Retail Store Assistant to join our team at MERIDIAN PIOW TRADING' in Iskandar Puteri Johor. As a full-time Retail Store Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and supporting the efficient operation of our retail store. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing retail business and contribute to its continued success.

What you'll be doing

• Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries, product selection, and purchases.

• Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.

• Restock shelves, arrange displays, and ensure merchandise is presented neatly.

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately.

• Monitor stock levels and report low or out-of-stock items to management.

• Keep the sales floor, fitting rooms, and common areas clean and organized.

• Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and promptly escalate issues as needed.

• Assist with inventory counts and receiving new stock.

• Support team members and contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment.

• Follow all safety, security, and company procedures.

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience is a plus but not required (training provided).

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Friendly and approachable attitude with a passion for helping customers.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

• Basic math skills and ability to operate POS systems.
