RESIDENT ENGINEER - MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL (M&E)

About the role

PEMBINAAN KEKAL MEWAH SDN BHD' is seeking a Resident Engineer - Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) to join our team in Sandakan, Sabah. This full-time role is responsible for providing critical engineering support and oversight for our mechanical and electrical projects. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a strategic role in ensuring the successful implementation and completion of our initiatives.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee the execution of mechanical and electrical project activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning

• Coordinate and collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met

• Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget

• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed progress reports

• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards

• Provide technical guidance and support to the project team as needed

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our project delivery processes

What we're looking for

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry

• Strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents

• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards

• Proficient in the use of project management software and tools
