Production Manager Segmental Box Girder (SBG) – LRT/MRT/Highway Viaducts

Job Description:

1. Production & Planning

   • Develop and execute production schedules based on project milestones and casting sequences.

   • Ensure compliance with tight tolerances required for match-casting techniques used in balanced cantilever construction for LRT/MRT/viaduct works.

   • Manage multiple casting beds, stressing platforms, and curing chambers.

   • Ensure compliance with production targets, cycle times, and specifications.

2. Quality & Compliance

   • Ensure compliance with quality standards set by relevant authorities (e.g., SPAD, MRT Corp, LLM, LTA).

   • Monitor segment surface finish, geometric accuracy, tendon duct positioning, and reinforcement detailing.

   • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for defects such as blowholes, honeycombing, and dimensional deviations.

3. Technical Coordination

   • Liaise with consultants, third-party inspectors, and client representatives during mock-up approvals and audits.

   • Ensure production drawings, lifting schemes, and method statements are followed.

4. Manpower & Equipment

   • Organize and supervise skilled workers for segmental rebar works, stressing, and demoulding activities.

   • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of key equipment, including match-cast moulds, stressing jacks, lifting frames, and curing tanks.

5. HSE & Process Improvement

   • Promote a zero-incident culture through regular toolbox talks and safety audits.

   • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as cycle time optimization, lean layout implementation, and process automation.

6. Reporting & Coordination

   • Prepare and submit daily/weekly production reports, NCR summaries, and casting yard KPIs.

   • Coordinate logistics for yard-to-site delivery in line with the erection sequence and available storage space.

7. Cost Control
   Control production costs by minimizing material wastage and maximizing resource utilization.

Experience:

• Proven track record in LRT/MRT/highway viaduct SBG casting yards.

• Familiar with balanced cantilever method and span-by-span erection techniques.

• Experience with ISO 9001, CIDB, or equivalent certification systems.

• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and production software (e.g., Primavera, BIM 360 if applicable).

Skills:

• Leadership, team management, and client interfacing.

• Knowledge of segment geometry control, post-tensioning, and match-cast requirements.
